A very easy but huge space saver for my little bathroom. waterproof cardboard shelves for my bathroom's corner area. 

Materials I used:-

PVA glue/ hot glue gun

Cardboards, I used pampers cartons

Duct tape

Used polythene bags

Aluminium take away container lids

Door magnets 

           

Kids Play mat 5 minutes DIY

Hello crafters!

Here I am again with my easy 5-10 minute craft idea. It was few days back when my friend's little angel visited our house and as kids gets super excited at new place, her excitement was also beyond control. she liked the colorful printouts of numbers that were sticking on my DS's black cardboard almirah so much that she wanted them on floor to walk on them. 

That's it!  I just had few minutes to fulfil her desire and convert those printouts into a play mat and thats how this play mat came into my crafting world.

When we go out we see high street shops are full of colorful and attractive play mats and its really hard to choose one. You just wanna buy them all for your little treasures but for obvious reasons, you cant!

But with this easy and cheap play mat idea you can change the prints and designs whenever you want.

So, lets make our very own personalised waterproof play mat for babies and toddlers.

Material that used ( whatever was readily available in my craft shelf)

> Printouts of numbers

> Transparent tape

> Scissors  

> Punch office pockets or paper pockets

> Duct tape or any other decorative tape (optional)

Well, all you have to do is put your printouts in the punch pockets arrange them in the desired order and stick them with the tape. VOILA!!! your play mat is all ready to play with.

I made alphabets and number play mat, you can use different cars or puzzles or your baby's favourite figures the options are endless, just play with your imagination.

You can even use plain paper pockets, I used the punched one because thats what I had available in my stock and I think sticking of punch pocket is easier then plain.

The best next part of this play mat is storage. The play mat becomes so tiny after you fold it that you can store it any where in the room.

Folding steps of my play mat are shown below. 

If you are using the punch paper pockets and want to hide those punch  holes, thats where you have to use the duct tape or any other decorative tape. I didn't use any decorative tape because I was happy with visible punch holes . A lovely gift for my friend's angel. My DS has outgrown for this mat but not for his LEGOs.

5 easy kids cardboard DIY

My lil one's growing requirements created so many little, lovely inventions. The saying, "necessity is a mother of inventions" has proven itself. I made most of the thing in my house.Weather it is Alphabets or an Almirha ...lol !!! well, what can you do?... These days packagings are so beautiful and tempting that they straight goes to my Storage. I always try my passion, when my son goes to school. So, here are the few results!

Wooden Mandir out of empty drawers

When you are a crafty mind you will try to make best out of waste and I did the same.  It was a little side table in the house, but got damaged at the time of shifting, sadly irreparable. The drawers were really nice, so couldn't throw them away and tried to do some experiments and for me the end result was very satisfying.

I used 2 drawers  to make a little wooden Mandir. 1 for the front vertical side and other one is for base.

Things I used: 

• Empty drawers 
• Glitter
• Glue
• Tissue boxes
• Sticky tape
• Coloured paper
• Craft knife
• Scissors
• Sand paper

Step 1:

Decide the way you want your Mandir vertical or horizontal . I decided to go for vertical/longer side.

Step 2:

From the second drawer I took the wooden ply base out for designing purpose only, It can be cut by a normal craft knife easily.

Step 3:

Just draw your pattern and cut it out with craft knife. You can easily do it with little extra pressure on the ply and use sand paper to make edges smooth.

Step 4:

I was so impatient, so, for sticking purpose I used Bluetack but you can always use wooden glue as it will be more durable. It just takes little longer to dry hence, my shortcut was bluetack!

Step 5:

I used PVA glue for sticking the glitters but you can use your decorations and thing to  give it a perfect look.

Step 6:

Originally the base was small, so I extended it with another drawer and just did the addition of tissue boxes to make sections.

DIY Very easy Cardboard alphabet letter T

Well, I am loving this, too. I do lots of activities with my LO and used to make little things to make my DS busy and was curious to google new ideas n tips when I found lots of amazing pins on pinterest and literally, there are thousand of way to make a letter, wooden letter, cardboard letter, yarn latter, concrete letter, vintage letter, metal letter I mean options are endless...but again, I was stuck on my loving cardboard letter and decided to give it a go.For me this is best way to share your photo collage with everyone.

         

Supplies needed:- 

-Cardboard

-Empty yogurt pot

-Glue

-Vibrant/Mod podge (sealant)

-Scissors / craft knife

-News papers

-Photos ( I used B&W pics)

• I pick 2 pieces of card boards, the size of cardboard depends on the size of your letter, then I drew"T" shape on the cardboard (for me that was the hardest past). I used craft knife to cut the shape.
• Next thing I did was to put empty yogurt pot in between the card boards. If you don't have a yogurt pots you can put anything witch is capable enough to made the letter uniform. you can make cardboard stripe and with the help of glue turn them in a circle you will need six circles or six yogurt pots.
• Put several layers of paper pages on the letter to cover it all over. you can use normal diluted PVA  glue, just to make spreading easy, then start sticking your pieces of news papers to cover the entire letter. 

.This part is absolutely optional, my DS wanted to color his letter. That's the good part of cardboard, you can basically just have a go and experiment and not to worry about you are "wasting " anything.  

• Now here comes the fun part, I chose B&W picture because i love the look of black and white but its totally up to you, if you want you can choose colored pics too. 
• After choosing your photos your photos will need to be shaped and trimmed to fit the letters. Once you have determined where you want to place the photos, you can easily create a crease in the paper to match the shape of the letter. My letter was covered from sides as well. 
• So first, decide the layout of the photos (including which photo overlaps the other, etc). Once you decide that, Glue them and apply sealant.I used Vibrant. 

Your final product, here it is all ready!

GIANT Cardboard almirah with drawers

Hello crafters,

Entering this challenge, wasn't planned, initially, since had no idea where to begin from. So, opted a start with few little drawers to put my DS's toys inside. But as the Christmas was just over, we had an abundance of cardboard boxes in our house, so with the little addition of used cardboards I ended up making 3 drawers and an Almirah on the top of the drawers. I must admit, that though it was not my plan to make a huge storage almirah and drawers but at the end I am so happy as this thing is, indeed a huge space saver and much needed in the house.

About the size and measurement :- I had a little space near my couch in sitting room so opted to utilise that hence, in my case, I decided the width, depth and height according to the space available in the corner of my house. 

Things I used :-

Cardboards
knife
Glue
cable tie
Duct tape
Brown paper

I Made 2 set of Almirha ( mirror image) to put them together. 

First things first, Like my every other cardboard project first you have to make sure that cardboard is hard enough to hold the weight. Make your cardboard sheet strong, for that I always stick 3 cardboard together to make a hard strong sheet . Each and every wall of my drawers are made up of 3 sheets of cardboards as shown in the picture down. 

Make 8 cardboard sheet for the cardboard base.

Thickness is about 1.5"

8 Sheets

Now make 8 (1.5" thick) strips of cardboard and stick them on the wall with the help of Glue and Cable tie like the picture shown below.

                          

On theses stripes you are going to put your Drawer base.  I also cover the edge with the brown paper to give them a nice finishing look.  Now your base is ready for six drawers.

Now drawer base is ready, time to make some drawers, for drawers, just remember one thing that you have to stick 2-3 sheets to make it strong and after that cover/ decorate them with the paper of your choice. 

 For base I used wall paper and some decorative papers. Again every wall of my drawers and the base of drawers are made of 2-3 layers of cardboards.

As you can see the depth is really good of these drawers so again I did a little experiment with the last drawer. as shown in the picture below, I made 2  section in one drawer,  A secret treasure place for my DS. 

Well thats the fun part, my DS always enjoy making these things with me.

 I used drawer magnet for the door of almirah. So that way every thing is hidden here.

Just cover everything with final sheet of cardboard to give it a  nice  neat finish look.

With its multiple dividers and drawers, this almirah is a great space saver to put away your stationery, accessories, clothes, toys and so on. It’s  easy to make and you can be rest assured that everything will be organised and rule out the hush hush timings.. You can use your favourite wrapping paper or anything to create your own style, I used duct tape here. 

I made this Almirah in september 2014, so it is now almost 2years old. In between we moved to another house and this almirha was again a BIG hit, we used it just like a cardboard carton and wrapped it in cling film. I am adding the recent picture of this Almirah working and in excellent condition.
